would be way easier and probably cheaper to just buy a 4wd truck. and beds are not cheap.... i priced a few used ones at scrapyards in south MS and they run from 600-1000 depending on condition

Conversion from a long bed to shortbed takes frame modification. Then tranny, front axle, exhaust, suspension probably too. Youre going to have the truck in pieces! Way too much work, I would just get a another truck.

You would win an award for pulling all this off with a hammer, screwdriver and vice grips. Haha you may need a little more then that

Yeah im down for making you a plaque or trophy if you do man! The auto to 5 speed wouldnt be too terribly rough though
