Battery? How old is it and have you tried to put a booster (jump) to it? Sounds like its old and wont hold a charge.

The "clicking" sound is definitely before the starter. If it was ignition there would be cranking at least.

a friend mentioned putting 12 volts to the firewall solenoid and then jumping across the solenoid to see if its starts.....does this sound reasonable?? don't want to fry something......are there any fuseable links between the ignition and the firewall solenoid?

the orange wire with red line going to the firewall solenoid only has 4 volts on it when the key is on....should be 12volts?? anyone familiar with this circuit??
Ok,got it started was a broken 12 volt wire to the starter.....but I still have only 4 volts to the firewall solenoid....key on 4 volts...key off 4 volts...can someone out there check their truck to see what the voltages are at the firewall solenoid(right next to the battery..will have to pull off plastic panel..) Thanks
