Hi All, Bear with me I'm a newbie. I own a 98 4.2 liter F150. I have a strange situation going on. After driving more than 20-30 minuets only on hot and muggy days,I'll shut the truck down it won't start. It seems like it's starved for gas, this occurres no matter what the fuel level is. It will start again after 4-5 hours. During these occasions the truck has never stalled or died while driving. When driving it runs well, no problems what so ever. If anyone has any ideas please HELP. Thanks

What about pump?

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. If you can, try and get a fuel pressure reading from the test port on the fuel rail when its acting up. The fuel rail pressure spec for your truck is koeo:35-45psi, and koer 28-45psi. (koeo-key on engine off, koer - key on engine running)

I have a funky ignition switch and I go through this sometimes. If I take the key out, make sure the switch locks in the right place and then start over it usually starts right up. My switch has some obvious problems though.
