Default No heat?

I have a 97 f150 xlt regular cab, and it has begun to get cooler and ive decided to get my heat operable. Since i got the truck in Jan. The cool has worked really good, but the heat wont work. When switching the temp **** to heat, the compressor still runs... The heat still doesnt work even when switched to panel or defrost. I just switched out the ac control panel and still no difference... Any suggestions??

Most likely the blend door actuator or your heater core is stopped up

Check to see if you have air in the system. My brother's car just had that problem this weekend. Think he just removed the cap and started it for a few min to get the air out.

Your heater core is clogged. reverse the hoses and see if it uncloggs. Problem is if it is clogged your Radiator isn't far from the same situation and you won't get good circulation until you have both professionally reversed flushed of the goo/gell that cloggs em. The small business guys keep in business because of clogged stuff. It's the way it is at your age of truck. You can do the work yourself if you have the tools. Some times reverse flushing yourself works but usually at the old age it doesn't and even a new one is possibly the only fix without a lot of sorrow. :scoote r::whist ling2:

Ok , as far as the radiator and the thermostat is concerned, they are brand new. Ill probly end up pulling the heater core and checking the blend door at the same time :/
The truck was given to me and had been sitting for almost 2 years, ive been slowly fixing things and the heater core was coming up on my list. Thanks for the reply!
