So if I stay with just a regular 5.4, anyone know a good company or website to find some besides craigslist

In what ways would you make more Tq with a 4v? Isn't that what really matters with a truck? (ignoring the guys that drive trucks like cars.)

As I've said before, I'm coming from the Mustang world so Trucks are still foreign to me. 4v Hp is nice but when trying to get a big heavy truck moving quicker, adding a set of SUV or Torquer cams on a 2v seems a whole lot easier than trying to do that with a 4v.

TMK no one even makes a set of 4v cams that concentrate on the low end and there are no LT options. The MPH cams easily add 25-30flbs of Torque down low where you want it.

There aren't many guys running them on here but there are plenty of dyno numbers in the crown vic and thunderbird forums. Is there anything I'm not taking into account?

The 4bt can be made to make decent power. Plenty of people on that site have swapped them into full size trucks and SUVs. Plus the 6bt is a 3/4 ton motor and it would take a lot more work to make it fit. With the right gearing the 4bt can reach 30 mpg and still haul a load.

It sounds like the OP is wanting to stick with a v8 but a 4 or 6bt f150 would be pretty neat.

4v makes more torque sooner because the engine can actually breathe. Granted parts are more expensive but when setup its definitely the better engine.
