Default New here, need some help

Im new here, and need a little help with my dads truck.

1.)Its a 2001 F150 with a 6" BDS lift and 35" Toyo M/T.
Sometimes he says when hes hauling his boat down the interstate it seems like its struggling, he said he'll have it to the gas to the floor and just not going anywhere. and sometimes he'll be pulling his boat out of the boat launch and he'll have it to the floor and its just revving up and barely going. Now it does have stock gears but i know this has nothing to do with it.

2.)and another question is what size gears should he get? and what should they run?

Thanks.

Gears have everything to to with it my brotha...Also he needs to tow his boat with the OD off.
He needs 4:56's for his tire size and up IF he's doing alot of towing.
Also what does he have 4.6 or 5.4?

Well from experience when you get to 35" tires and up you will notice some difference when towing...this is can be fixed by regearing. Also if he needs more get up add a K&N,free flow exhaust and a programmer.....

Oh and post some pics!

Anyone know what this could be ? I'm pretty sure its not gears, ive been to many of shops and they said it doesnt sound like gears. its hard to explain but feels like brakes a stuck closed and its holding it back.

only reason i dont think its gears as well is because i used to have a 93 z71 with an 11" lift with 40" tires and i could pull boats up ramps no problem and had plenty of power pulling things, it didnt cruise well since it never shifted into overdrive, but still pulled.

and we took the truck out the other day and you couldnt pull the jetskis up the boat ramp, it didnt spin or rev up high, just kinda struggled and stayed in one spot.

His truck maybe starving for fuel....checked/changed the filter? Clogged injectors? Clogged pick up screen on the fuel pump might be clogged.

We've heard it may be fuel, but we thought it would atleast surge or stutter if it was starving for it, but i could be wrong.

best way to clean injectors?

It's all good, My current truck is a 04 z71. I'm just trying to help out my dad and figure out whats wrong with his truck.

after browsing y'all's pics I've been trying to talk my dad into trading me trucks, if we get this problem fixed.
