Default New Exhaust

Looking to get a new exhaust put on my 02 F150 5.4. I don't want anything to loud.. Just a good rumble when I hit the gas. Talk to one guy and he suggested putting true 3" duals with an H pipe using Cherry Bomb mufflers pushed pretty far back to the tail gate to minimize the cabin noise while on the highway. He quoted me about 350 to do the job.

After some research I think figured out what the H Pipe was for (balances pressure) but I am not sure about the Cherry Bomb's.. They just sound loud.....

Any suggestions?

Before you go spend a lot of money try just taking off the muffler and see how you like that sound.

removing the muffler is a lot louder and in some states(if not all states) it is illegal. I have a borla on my 03 5.4 and I love the low rumble. my friend had flowmaster on his dodge and everytime when went up a hill or accelerated hard it got really annoying. the only down side to borla is that it is more expensive

Well another thing is that they dont evan have to check the noise leval if they stop you as long as they think the exhaust is louder than stock wether aftermarket or just broken they can give you a ticket.

I live in florida so there's no inspection... And there 75% of the exhausts I hear are louder than mine with no muffler.

I looked at a few of these. It seems there are a few different styles. What did you go with and why?

I have the dual exhaust with rolled tips, rear exit. The system ran about $750, retail, so I know that's what scares a lot of people away.
