Have had the same battery for about 4 years its time to replace it. Now the big question what brand should i go with. Optima Yellow or Red Top, Diehard Platinum, Interstate MT7 AGM or Megatron Plus. Whats everyone have on here.

I have a motorcraft in my truck cause that's what it came with. We used optima red-tops in the racecar and we didn't have alternators. I climbed the fence with that car and the battery still worked fine!

Yeah but they're also like $160. I like Motorcraft. I've seen them last 8-10 years before going bad several times.I personally wouldn't replace a battery after 4 years just for the hell of it. If it's giving you trouble, sure, but if it fires up every time why change it.

Been adding more electronics and lighting lately. Where i work sometimes gotta leave my KC's or headlights on without the engine running. So want something that can handle it.

I run a Kinetic HC2000 in mine. It's a great battery. I put a meter on it after 10 days out of town and the resting voltage was 13.10 volts with the vehicle off.

I feel like Optimas have gone down hill lately too. They're still really good batteries, and probably hard to beat though. It just seems like they don't hold up to constant draw the way they did a few years ago, I know they were taken over or moved to Mexico a year or so ago. I use them a lot in different vehicles I work on, mobility vehicles with tons of added on driver controls and wheelchair lifts, power sliding door and ramp motors and things like that.

This is one of the best brands of batteries on the market hands down. If you keep them maintained they will last a very long time. Even better than the kinetic that I use. Especially for car audio.
