Default needs help

so I went to delta world tire to get my front end alignment and they told me I needed a new LF hub bearing which I knew was bad an LF cv axle which i figured was goin out anyways because I noticed grease down under/around it the other day when I was lookin around. also said I need new shocks "to hold the alignment together" and idler arm which I replaced no longer than a year ago. planned on getting new shocks next summer so not worried about that. so what I would like to know should I get this stuff from my local auto parts store ie autozone orielys to get the cv axle an hub bearing or should I order it online? I know the cv axle is about $55 at autozone and the hub is like $250 and how hard is it to change them both? how long should each take to change? and do i need any special tools to change them? thanks for all the help guys!

The choice is yours re: where to buy. If you cheap out on parts you may regret it-especially with the idler arm. These repairs should take a half day or so. Nice to have an impact gun for it but can be done without it. A torque wrench will be necessary for tightening the axle nut.

Oreillys has a lifetime warranty on just about all parts. I would do that.

my friend with a lifted pathfinder, eats through CVs and he buys a new one and returns the old for a full refund. no questions asked. I currently have my idler arm and pitman arm from them and I have my reciept for both...just in case.

Like they say it's your choosing. When I buy parts that extensive ill go to napa. Iv done a cv joint before and it's not hard. It's just a bit time consuming. You don't need any power tools or a torque wrench but they do help a lot and if not you will be sore for a while trying to undo those bolts lol

^IMO you NEED a torque wrench. its really helps to keep you from under or overtighting bolts.

a breaker bar is of the norm...and usually a BFH (big f***ing hammer) or a friend who weighs 250+

The first thing I would do is go to a real mechanic and get their opinion on the matter. These quick stop shops have a tendency to screw over people

haha thanks you guys and I think I'll bring it to my uncle who's a mechanic an get him to do it cuz I'll be to busy the next few weekends helping my moms friend gut and redo there house. she lives in Laplace about 1/4 of a mile from I-10. and I may just go to orielys and get the parts and give it to my uncle to change.
