Well it a done deal, we settled at $700. Not a bad deal i think, ready to get started on this project. Found some heads on Ebay that are off a Lightning with supposedly 20k miles for $200 shipped. They are the PI heads. Think I will got with some Eagle rods unless i can find some stock Lightning/HD rods for cheap. Probably be closer to income tax time before i finish but it will hopefully be beastly. Any suggestions?

You may not need to replace rod's... If you do decide to change bearings and roads, I would def look at the crank for any unusual wear. If you are spending the money to do it right, better to have it completely rebuilt and save time in the long run. I do alot of towing, and just put a new set of heads in mine about two months ago and I can tell a reasonable amount of additional pressure and response on the throttle. Make sure you use a dab of gasket sealer/silicon when putting the head gasket's and valve covers on. That stuff makes everything much tighter. Just be care and not over use it, or else you oil pump will be siffing silicion
