Default Need help/ suggestions!

Hi, I'm completely new to car upgrades and really have no idea what to look for etc. I'm 16 and I'm driving a 2001 f150 XLT that my dad recently owned. I have budget of about 1500 and I would like to get some new rims/ tires and a lift no larger than 6 inches but have no idea if that's in my budget. I don't want anything to flashy. Suggestions would be great. The truck runs fine and has 170,000 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The lift will blow the whole budget. Or wheels and tires will blow the budget, sadly with 1500 you cant have both

A suspension lift would take about all of your budget. Not to mention "Up-sizing" rims and tires to fit the look.

I'm not a huge fan of lifts, but the best way to ugrade the looks quick is new tires and rims.
What kind of style are you going for? Do you want mud tires, all terrains, etc.

With a little more info, id be happy to send ya some links!

Body lift wouldn't cost too much

Thanks for the quick replys. The truck isn't 4x4 so off road tires are not needed. Other than that I'm open to anything. The budget could change to maybe 2000, would that open any options? I was wondering also if its possible to remove the side reels, (I think that's the word).

Body lift and get rid of the running boards and it will look a lot taller. Then just put beefier tires....

If you did a 3" body lift and installed it yourself you could get that with a set of wheels and tires. That would completely change that truck. I'd vote for black and polished wheels too

Haha I'm guessing installing your own lift would be quite difficult?

A body lift yea probably. I don't like body lifts so I don't study how to install them since I never will. But you'll save a lot of money by doing it yourself
