Need help with my ford
I have a 1999 ford f 150 i bought it for fun but it has a problem. I unlock the door with kry and start it but when i shut it off it wont start again unless i get out hit the auto lock botton and open with key and then it will start. The theft light flasses when i try to start second time but first time its solid. When i bought it they said they put a after market auto start on it and that might be the problem. But its a real pain to get out and in to restart it. Would it be the key or auto start but i dont know much about fords so i need help.
I was joking, of course. I had a car that used to autolock the doors sometimes and trap me inside. That's how I got out.
Study how the PATS works and you'll see that it's probably whatever modification the PO did yo get you autostart. The PATS and how the key works is pretty basic. The proper key just needs to be in the vicinity of the RF device on the steering column. Since yours works once you know you've probably got the right key.
