If you can, pull both sides and compare them. You might be able to see something that was done wrong on the drivers side. And cleaning and adjusting them can definitely make a difference. A lot of times I see where people take both sides apart then try to get them both together. That's the wrong way to go about it, you should do one side at a time so you can use the other side as a reference.
