When i was switching out my old gas tank, we managed to break a sensor that screws into the top of the tank. I hear that it is an EVAP sensor, but not positive. Local hardware stores dont carry it, so i dont know if it is a dealer item or what. Anyone know what this sensor is, or where to get one. Its for a 97 f150, 4.6

 

go to a napa/carquest/auto zone, not a hardware store.

 

Not sure but I would just go to the dealer and have them look it up. They should be able to show it to you on the monitor and you'll know it's the right part. More than likely it will only be a dealer item anyways.

Yeah thats what i did mean, i went to autozone and NAPA and they didnt carry it at all, so i am assuming it is a deal item.

Yeah i checked eBay and they had a bunch of sensors, but no evap sensor.

 

Have you checked Rock Auto - they care a lot of dealer type parts

 

Its a fuel tank pressure sensor.
