Do you have a 4x4 or 4x2 and an ATX or MTX?

i used to have a 98 4.2 5 speed 4x2, single cab, if i drove it nice and easy and kept it under 70mph on the highway, i could get around 17mpg - the big downfall of that combo is how high the revs are at highway speeds.
id venture to say im getting basically the same mileage (if not a little better on the highway at 70mph) with my 2 valve 5.4 and auto, 1800rpm at 70mph VS god knows what in the old 4.2 (it didnt even have a tach) but im guessing it was around 3krpm at 70mpgh
