You'll find alot of different opinions but if your truck is properly tuned and your tires properly inflated anything else you do will show minamal improvement. I'm sure you'll hear a lot of advice to the contrary, hell one idiot said he got a 2-3 mpg from a K&N filter.

Light foot and maintenance. You can dump a ton of money into mileage mods and only get a couple better mpg that even at $6.00 will take a while to re coupe. Cheap mod that might help is the Gotts mod. Lugs are 5x135mm

Slightly but not nearly as bad as an aftermarket CAI would. Nothing you can hear unless you're really getting on it.

I have been paying close attention to my MPG and right now (city) I am getting around 11 MPG. I have 117k miles, a clean KN filter, new spark plugs at 100k, always keep injectors clean.

I live only 4 minutes from my work, so my stock 5.4L FWD Super Crew isn't even completely warmed up yet when I arrive.

Also, I'm not one of those guys to sit for three minutes to let it warm up either. I go no faster than 40 MPG on side streets to get to work.

With the price of gas these days I'm really watching this stuff.

How about you folks? (For a stock, perfect running, 11MPG city seems sort of ****ty, doesn't it?)

E-fans will give you 1-2 more mpg. Also after i got my edge evo i noticed a big different on the amount of trips i make to the pumps. I find it good in two ways because i changes the tune of your truck and automaticaly gives you better mileage but i also have mine constistanly show me my AMPG and IMPG (average and instant) and i find it great because it helps you find the sweet spot on you gas pedal when your driving and you also figure out the damage your doing when you stomp on it, which use to be a common problem with me!

Just what I did to mine. I deleted the fan clutch and put in a Lincoln Mark 8 cooling fan system. Nice modification and what a difference. Especially with the noise of the fan clutch when cold. I've gotten about 1.5-1.7 mpg improvement with this and the air cleaner mod. Heck the quietness was worth it if I'd lost gas mileage. I'm up to 12.3 in town and 18.7 highway. General average just over 14.3 mpg. To me, that's livable. lol
