I wish you luck with that.

You got me curious, AK, so I went out and looked at mine. Neither the '99 nor the '03 have this piece. For reference, both are 4x4, and the '03 has factory mud flaps, the '99 doesn't.

If the '99 had had them, I was going to see about sending one across the pond, but no joy.

Both of mine had them. The FX4 across the street also. All 3 are 4x4's. 1998s and a 2002. It is part of a stone guard package, which includes the coverings on the bottom of the rear bed area. It's marked as regular, not standard equipment on 4x4 models in my manuals. That doesn't always mean that it is used everywhere. It might be regional where these are sold, and would still be regular equipment. Sort of like adding cold climate packages in certain areas. I don't know. I only have the parts and warranty books to go off, as well as a crash manual with all the parts listed. It has to be very common or it wouldn't be so available.

Andy if you have the mud flaps from Ford, these would not be used.

Just got off the phone with a buddy at Kendall Ford. He said, when they order vehicles, there are three or 4 different packages that use protection of some type. If the vehicles are ordered without mud guards, they have the stone shield package added. If they have the guards, that is the only guards and no shields. They don't fit together. If the customer wanted the guards added, the shields have to come off.

I think that answers why it says regular and not standard equipment. Hope this clears up the usage.

None here as well. Huh, I haven't seen those in the past, or noticed them anyway.

Here is what the rear looks like. This came off your page Brew. Note: NO wheel arches on this truck.

No. They are different parts. I was just showing the back half of the stone kit (includes the front one). Ford sold this full kit also, just like the door sills. There was a note on if they fit with arches or not. You had to order the correct kit. Just posted the picture for reference for anyone else.
