Glad to see you tackled it. That drivers side fuel rail is a bugger and thank God I was doing my injectors too because I was moving it no matter what. I think it took me 6 hours total. I think fords engineers should have to do a spark plug and heater core change before any new designs. Now you're ready to move onto the really fun stuff like painting your truck in your back yard............Yep I did that 2 yrs ago including the cap and no I had never done it before and never will again. It took me about a week to wet sand and buff my clear coat by hand. It made the spark plug job seem not that bad. Merry Christmas

i just did my 5.4 and it took over 5 hrs but i didnt break one plug.
but they werent original plugs either.
the champions coming out needed a 5/8 socket while the autolites going back in needed a 9/16 socket.
didnt have to remove the computer and mounting frame under neath but u will need a multitude of different lengths of socket extensions to fit in there perfectly.
i bought an extra coil too but didnt need it as the check engine light went away after plugs were changed and so did the misfire/rough idle.
runs like a top now except for ticking exhaust manifold. headers next!

Yea I didn't break any of the oem motorcraft plugs. I made sure to spray some liquid wrench down there before attempting to take them out. I put the original motorcraft plug back in because that's what was recommended to me by some on here. The only one that I did not do motorcraft was the one that had blown out before and had the insert in there. On that one I did the autolotite because it is a different plug that motorcraft doesn't make. I ended up leaving the fuel rail on and just talking the 2 bolts out so that I could move the rail around a bit on the drivers side. It all takes a while and takes some cursing but when you set your mind to it it's possible.
