Map sensor.
Thanks for your help. It ended up being the mass air flow sensor. I replaced the old one in March with a ac Delco sensor. But evidently it wasn't a good one, I had to replace it again. Back to the good old running condition. I had my mechanic look at it and he said that the timing is off a bit, and that I need to do a timing job in the future. So that explains why it still doesn't run quite like it should. Thanks for your time!
Not knowing what you mechanic meant by timing job; only the fuel injection timing is adjustable on a V6.
That is located [in what use to be] the ignition distributer in the pre 97 motors. Now, in this location is a sensor to time fuel injection.
Otherwise Ignition timing is not adjustable.
Only other timing that can wear is the front cam timing parts.
Better ask for more detail so you understand.
Good luck.

Timing job means that it needs a new timing chain. I am going over to his shop on Monday and am going to ask him about the timing being off. What I thought he said was that the chain was off a tooth or something. We'll see.
If the cam timing is a tooth off, there is a lot of wear in the motor and the chain & gears are worn and sloppy.
Not only will cam/ valve timing 'profile' be off but 'fuel injection' timing will also be off and not adjustable to the good..
Reason fuel injection will be off is because that sensor is turned by the camshaft.
Good luck.
