Unhappy Loud injectors or....? :wallbash:

Been noticing alot of noise around the passenger side near the COPS and injectors, I do know the injectors have a tick, but shouldnt be able to hear it though the cab, but this is louder than the normal tick, and it's not an exhaust leak, but it's constant noise, does not change when rpms go up. also, check engine light just recently came on, and it never has before? i've toyed around with the connections and they all seem to be snug. maybe it's just to cold here(north tennesee) and some things are acting up. anyone experiencing same thing??

2001 f150 5.4l 4x4.

Check spark plugs for proper torque, have your codes read.

it's not a tick noise though, with a tick there is a slight pause then another tick, this is not the case, it's an indescribable noise lol, i know that doesnt help much. but it's what im working with, maybe a video would suffice, i'll try and get one here, but it's colder than a well diggers *** here.

Where are you at in Tn. I'm in tricities right next to the bristol motor speedway my 03 4.6 is making the same noise and the colder it is the worse...everything is torqued right and runs perfect just loud but 250,000 miles can't really complain. ..I put a little Lucas in my fuel and the sound went away for about 200 miles

im about 15 miles north east of nashville, temps are in the low teens, it does seem to get worse when it gets colder(louder). My truck did act up a little when i first bought it, it seemed like it wasnt getting fuel and wouldnt start up, i took the fuel filter out, and shook it up a bit and inspected it for a clog just to trouble shoot a little. may have done the trick because the truck ran fine afterwards, but maybe i loosened up something and it went through the fuel line and made it's way to the injector, thats my guess. but im not sure, i'll get the codes read tomorrow.
