My 1999 F-150 has a loose radio antenna. This is mounted on the passenger side fender. If I open the hood, I can reach in and put my hand on the underside and feel where this antenna pokes thru.

What I don't understand is how to tighten this assembly. It does not feel like a nut on a thread, but rather like some type of sheet metal clip.

How do I replace and/or tighten this?

you have too pop the plastic piece off the top of the base. there are 3 screws holding the antenna on

 

First off , Thanks for the tip about the base cover --- awesome- Mine is all fixed !

Second- for those worried about scratching paint or breaking plastic piece, I used a thin butter knife, gently prying up all the edges and holding the pried end up while going all around it. Worked flawlessly and didnt scratch a thing
