Default Looking At A Truck

I'm still slightly new to the forum and new this this section. Anyhow I have been searching for a truck for a few months now and have came up with this as one to look at. The only thing is that senors in the exhaust have went out and there is a exhaust leak is what the seller said, whats the price to fix this? Also opinions on the truck itself? http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/3155571474.html

Yeah its the o2 sensors. I just looked it up looks like 300ish to have it repaired? I was shooting for 3000 for it if so. Is it worth that price? Also what a exhaust leak fix would cost??

I'd get it for that price as clean as the body is. The exhaust should be a cheap fix.

Alright good to hear! All I can seen is that spot of rust on the drivers side. Now the only problem to look at is that it's about 60-75 miles away....

So anyone else have any thoughts or comments? Also anything I need to look for specifically on these years?

Bring some one with u. Have them slightly turn the steering wheel back and forth while ur looking at the steering parts to see if they're loose or play in the steering.
Look on the sides of the engine thru the wheel wells for oil leak. Look for water residue or like its been cleaned. Could mean there was a leak and he cleaned it up before u got there so it looks good.
Go under with it in neutral and try to spin the driveshaft. If it has play the u-joints are bad.
Checks all fluid, for milkyness and check oil for fuel and water for fuel and oil smell. If so there's a bad head gasket or intake gasket.
When u drive it, don't just gun it. Let it slowly go into each gear to see how it shifts and feels. When u gun it, it can take alot d vibrations or shakes out.
Sound good?

Thanks! Helped a lot with additions to the check list! I did learn the seller is 19 years old, but the truck is in a metro area. So good news with possible bad haha.
