Default looking for more power

I have a 1999 f150 5.4 triton, lariat.

I'm buying a motor from the wreckers and am putting it on an engine stand and tearing it apart and building it back up and wanna make quite a bit more power if possible, its gonna be built over time so there really isn't a budget

Some people love restoring old cars, my truck is my prize and I would like make it great.

If anyone could give me ideas that would be great (not turbo or supercharger first plz)

Specifics on what brands of internal components would be even better.

Thanks again, Kyle

Bore the motor out with some over sized pistons. Bigger cam as well.

Lol yeah I guess I should say I'm replacing it with another 5.4

And that's what I was thinking bore it out, bigger pistons and bigger cam, is there anything else like heads or anything... ?

Go on ebay and get a used supercharger from a 99-04 Ford f150 Svt Lightning.

Put headers, supercharger, exhaust, and bore it out. Bigger cams. Go all out I think

custom turbo kit > supercharger

big cam, bore it .30 over, crank, decent pistons, performance ignition, and you may need a custom tune

Get a rebuild kit from MMR, they make some nice forged pistons/rods/cranks.

Then slap on a Kenne Bell Supercharger. No boost lag, and screams like a real truck

If your gonna rebuild the motor you may as well build a motor that doesn't need a supercharger. Forge the botom end get the heads done put the right cams in and 400hp is easy. Heres a link to a article were they did a junkyard 4.6 to get 400hp.so a 5.4 should get a lot more with the same work. http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...tor/index.html
