Locker
Just wondering if anyone had any input about lockers my truck is an 04 heritage 2wd and I've done almost everything to it for only having a 4.2 but I was thinking of putting a locker in. Would it be worth it and what would a cheaper but good set up be to go with
The TracLok is a LS, not a locker. By the time you pay someone to go in and reset your ring and pinion, you could have gotten an Aussie or LockRight. Plus, you have to put the friction modifier in. I have a LockRight in my 4.2 and I absolutely love it. The Aussie is a little cheaper but of course made in Australia, it's only a $30 difference or so. LS's suck...I can't get the traction I need (especially in grass) out of them. The locker only takes about an hour and a half to install and you don't need to reset your R&P or even remove the carrier from the axle (they are lunch box lockers). All you have to do is remove the pinion shaft, remove the C-clips and spiders, pull the axle's out of the carrier, and then just swap the locker in. Getting the second C-clip in is really the hardest part and it just needs assistance from a bent coat hanger (the Lock Right instructions tell you exactly what to do). Personally, I love the traction and I can't hear the clicking everyone complains about when the motor is running and your turning. I can get you the part number for the LockRight cause we should have the same rear axle (8.8). Just go to the Aussie website and fill in the application search.
Here's the difference between a LS and locker.

why was that dodge 2500 with a limited slip rear only spinning the near side tire ? is it mis-labeled ?
of course the old ford with the locker is superior to a LS and obvisouly the open difs in the videos, but they could have at least drove slowly onto it, like they did in the 150 and ram, instead of running at it at 10mph
