Default Lightning Superchager Swap

I have a 01 f150 super crew 5.4L i found a 01 f150 lightning supercharger (Just the charger) online for 500.00 need to know if this is going to be a pain in the *** to swap over or if it would be easier and cheaper to go with an aftermarket one.

Just wondering if anybody on here has done this before, i know i will need a fuel pump, chip or tuned, injectors.

I work at a automotive shop, and this part is coming from a salvage yard. The supercharger came off a wreck 01 lightning, the motor only has 54,000 miles on it.

Salvage compaines remove the chargers from the engine to sell separately, because if some were to blow up a lightning engine there is no reason to replace the charger too.

Hey walt, if you decide not to do all the work involved in the swap, I might be interested in buying it from you if it's comlete. Just a note to keep me in mind. Thanks

This is probably one of the most popular power upgrades that's being done on these trucks. and probably one of the best. $500 bucks is about right for just the blower & hopefully the intake to. The rest you can get from Mike atmadenterprise.com. He can get you everything else you need to do the swap.

Default i found one too... thoughts?

you think $500 sounds cheap? I found one for $100. too good to be true?

They say it also came off of a wrecked 01 lightning. will this fit my 01 5.4 xlt? the seller doesnt know, but he "says" he got it from a family member for his 01 5.4 but never got around to looking into it or putting it on.

$500 is a bit high where I live, $300 is about what they are going for around here. You still need a bunch of other parts & can easily dump $2 - $3k into the swap. I've been collecting the parts here & there to do the swap on my 2000 f150.
