Default Fuel Filter

Have a 99 4.6. Getting ready to change the fuel filter. Is it really pressurized continuously and needs to be released prior to changing. Saw that somewhere I think.

It is under pressure. Just pull the fuel pump fuse and run the motor until it stops and the pressure will be gone. The fuse is in the box under the hood.

Thanks torkum. Worked like a champ. Just lost a few drops when disconnecting the line. Sometimes the simplest of things...

And to future readers, spend the $5 for the tool to disconnect the lines or you will frustrate yourself to no end.

Nice feedback Gary, tools do matter. In any machine there are specialized tools, cheap investments. Pride in accomplishment has to offset the cost.
