What is the build date of the truck? Trucks made before July 1997 (I believe that is the cut off date) use a different style headlight mounting system than the later models. You need to make sure they will work with your truck. I personally don't care much for the all chrome lights unless on a all white truck. I think the black looks better on other colors.

I love my Harley heads but I thinking I should have went with the black instead. I'm having a heck of a time deciding on tail lights that keep the balance between the front and rear. ...It's hard because I HATE altezza/euro tail lights. Red tails don't look good and neither do tinted with the chrome front.

BTW, the cut off date is July of '96 (like I said in the post, I believed it was 7/97, but I was wrong).
So yes, yours being a 12/96 truck has the "new" style.

I meant false more as towards you saying that chrome looks good only on a white colored truck and black looks good on everything else. I meant to only quote that part of you post but my phone messed up
