Have a chance to swap my stock 2003 5.4 heads for a set of aluminum lightning heads. What do y'all think? What gains if any would I get? Or is it pointless?

 

Even if you dont gain anything, why not? I'd do it just for the hell of it.

 

Well Ya I just don't know. Cams on the lightning heads are probably set up for a blower and idk what that would do or not do to a NA motor? Any help is appreciated.

 

Well if the cams don't work out right, u could always throw some stock ones back in, or atleast some other ones..i think the cams in the lightning aint no diffrent from any other 5.4. But I'd double check somewhere on google or somthin to make sure.

Hey gives you a reason to buy a blower now dont it. even if the cam specs are different id save them and try to get a used blower from a lighting or harley, I mean you already got half the battle down if you have the heads

 

The heads and cams are the same. Difference is in the tuning and timing tables. Its not worth it. Now the shortblock is a little different story. Lightning came with forgeds cranks but the rods are garbage.
