Well I think starting this thread jinxed it lol. Drive the truck this morning and stopped at a gas station. I left it idling, and started to sound like it was "camming" a little bit. I could also hear a small exhaust leak while it was doing it.

I'm thinking I should also do injectors along with COPs.

If you do look into some of the newer Bosch injectors that fog in the gas rather than stream it. I wanted to do that on my old truck but never got around to it.

I had similar issues around 175k. I replaced the with a 80mm LMAF unit, 24lb Jetronic injectors from a 05 Navigator, WeaponX Coils, and NGK Iridium IX plugs. As far as maintaining the vehicle, I change the oil every 4500. I use Amsoil 5w20 and a Motorcraft filter. I also replace the PCV valve every other oil change. I have added a Oil seperator to the PCV and breathers. Seemed to help oil consumption and helps keep it cleaner.

I take it that got some of your power back? Those weapon X coils, are they worth the extra penny in your opinion? And as far as oil separators, is there a kit or did you make your own? I seem to be going through a quart of oil every 5k. I use Mobil conventional clean 5k 5-20 with a MC oil filter as well.

After looking around the Bosch injectors were the design 3's part # 62393 but they are also about $100 a piece. Now I remember why I didnt get around to it. LOL

I actually found very good reviews on http://cruzinperformance.com/ as a place for cleaning the injectors. The website looks like a 5th grader made it but I went through his step by step process and it looks like he is very thorough.

Anytime you can upgrade to Jetronic/USCAR injectors I would do it. I No longer use 24lb/hr injectors. But I still have Jetronics just in a 36lb/hr setup for use with E85. You can get them from Ford racing with the old Bosch EV1 style connector. Depending on year model they are different. The 03 I owned, had Jetronics/USCAR from the factory.

As far as the oil seperator I built my own setup. It doesnt have to be very large. Just large enough to catch the oil that the PCV sucks out under heavy vacuum.

As far as the WeaponX coils go, they have 2 different ones for our trucks. I have used both. For my purposes I am still using the stg 1/ street coils. I havent had any issues from them. They have over 50k miles on them and no signs of misfires. I do however put a set of plugs in every year. E85/High timing tends to chew up plugs.
