You can do that, just need a special switch. Like a on-off-on switch.

Yeah I figured not. Not a big deal. If I wanted to do both I suppose I could just get another two strips for $20, but on a switch will do.

The best spot to wire them is under the dash kick panel passenger side. its black and light blue, then you will just need a ground.

dont mean to thread jack but when I put them on a switch, do I need to put a relay or fuse inline anywhere when I hook them up?

You don't have to, as I said they barely draw any power so you shouldn't have to worry about burning up a switch or anything. I've accidentally left mine on all night before and they were still bright as when I parked it the next morning and the battery didn't hesitate when I went to crank it.

No you should be fine I think they only draw like .5 mili amps and that is nothing so I wouldn't worry

not meaning to take your thread but i got a stupid question. to do led strips under dash do i need a know how on wiring or is it pretty simple. never really worked with wiring except power outlets in house...i would want to run the strips on a switch...again sorry for my stupid question
