Hmmm.... How warm do the housing get? I just started researching halogen bulbs, but i hate the yellow color. This may be a better/ different option.

I wonder if something like this would work well in a projector?

I know we run HID's in projectors. HID's scatter light like crazy in free form housings. I would assume this would run just as well as HID's in a projector?

Some bulbs may or may not fit. Depends on the design. But even if they did I wouldn't run them in a projector because of the design of the bulb. The reason they don't scatter light as bad in a reflector bucket is because most LED bulbs are designed with the chip facing either up or down (or both, like my buddies. He's been out of town. Asking him tomorrow what brand his are). This doesn't project light as evenly out the sides so you'll get whacky output running them through a projector.

Yes you can put them in projector housings, but you have the same problem of a lot of foreground light and minimal distance light with reduced beam width.

I had them in my wife's Scion with low beam projectors, I took them out after a month or so because they just had poor distance output.

LED:

HID:

The pics show a little, but they really had poor distance and could not see well with the LED. They were worse than stock halogen bulbs. They were almost worthless in the rain.
