Default Leather

is it worth spending the money to get leather put in ur truck if u already have cloth? and is it worth taking out the carpet and replacing the floor with like husky liner or whatever?

I have the lariat package and in my opinion i'd much rather have cloth seats. If you want leather though and u know someone selling their seats then go ahead. its what u want/like. I had rubber flooring in my 98 GMC and i loved it. if my carpet ever got super dirty and i was going to replace it then I'd put the rubber flooring in

I love my leather as far as stain and water resistance, but it does not last as long as cloth. If you are getting muddy and spend a lot of time in the woods get the rubber floor mats, totally worth it.

It's all about finding the right deal. There was a member on the old forum that picked up two great condition expedition front leather captain's chairs for $200 (pair) from the salvage yard and ordered the expy center console, and it looked awesome in his truck.

I had a similar stroke of luck on my 99' Lariat... the driver's side leather was coming apart at the seams and needed to be recovered. On ebay I found a upholstery shop going out of business and they listed a set of katskin leather seat covers for an 01' Supercrew. The seat pattern was identical to mine but Katskin gives a very clear warning that their kits WILL NOT FIT a factory leather seat, just the cloth ones. I bid $150 figuring if I lost, I could make it back selling them. Sure enough, I won them for $150 shipped. Took the covers down to the local upholstery shop and they installed the covers in about two hours without any problems.

I've had 4 vehicles now with leather seats and they are higher maintenance and they do damage easier than cloth but they do make the interior much nicer.
