Default Leaky Corner Lights?

I bought a new pair of corner lights from LMC truck in January and recently they started to fill with water when in rains. I called them up and they sent me a brand new set of the same corners for free (awesome!) but when they showed up, I realized that this particular set has some sort of vent system in them. You can see it at the bottom and in the picture of the backing. Do you think It would be alright to plug the holes so I don't get water and condensation built up in the lenses or should I just let it be?

When I bought my headlights, they had a vent in them sort of similiar. I stuck an LED through the hole for city lights and caulked it shut, so far I haven't had an issue.

That being said, I figure that it's probably there for a reason, so I would let it be. If water does get in there, the vent should help clear it up. I was hesitant sealing mine shut, but like I said, so far, so good.

Maybe I just need to not drive through puddles that reach my corners. Haha. I assumed it was there to vent. The original corners look fine now. I now feel kinda guilty getting a free pair. For sale anyone? Lol.

I am gonna watch my old ones for another month and see if they get condensation in them before I sell these.
