I had the same problem. There are nuts on the inside of the window. behind the rear seat and under the headliner. I tighten them up and it stopped my leak. Hope it works for U.

Well I try to get the nuts behind the back seat put how do u pull down the back seat.

What I did notice though, the rubber strip that runs between the truck and window is old, loose and falling down. Wonder if I can get a new rubber strip and replace it if that would work too? Anyone know of some sites that I can get oem parts?

It's not coming from the brake light, or the rubber strip. You can remove them both and it will not leak. DO NOT try and seal around the surround with silicone. All it will do is make a big mess when it still leaks and you have to fix it right.

Read this thread.

This is what I followed to fix mine.

Here are some tips I learned also.

Do not use the caulk stuff in the tube as in the link.It makes a big mess, and an even bigger mess when you need to take it back apart because it still leaks because you didn't have it on thick enough.

Buy a roll of Butyl tape instead. Roll it out, press it in place, and no mess.

Tighten the bolts back down slowly. Little by little, giving the new seal a chance to compress.

Make sure to clean the old stuff off completely. Do it right, do it once.

Have plenty of time to do it. It's not a rush job.

Any questions, just ask. It's actually pretty easy to do with the Butyl tape.

I got mine at the local NAPA.
Try a local windshield repair company also.
Ask them for a price to redo your rear window while you are on the line. I hear of people saying they paid $80 or so to have theirs done, may be worth it to ask a price.

well i ended up buying seal at NAPA for about $20 or so. i did this repair this past weekend took a little while to do but i was able to get it. the longest and hardest part was taking off the old sealant. but once that was done it was easy from there. but what i did notice after everything put back on, when i ran the water hose on the truck to seal if i seal it right i notice a little small leak, so i track it down and it was coming from one of the top screws. so what i did was pull back the frame take the old seal that was around one of the screws and put some of that butyl seal and push back in and tighten the screw. and problem solved.

thanks for all the info and help on doing this job.
