My buddy is looking at a 2002 f150 XLT Supercab with the 4.6 and I need to know the known issues with those motors ( I only know stuff about the 5.4's) good deal for the truck? Needs front doors and has a couple small holes in the rockers. Original windshield never actually wrecked no oil leaks or anything. By the way he's 16 so good first truck? http://www.communityford.net/mobile/...IN/vd/24141773

well they want $3,600 and he has $5,000 so that should be enough to fix the rust on the doors, and replace the tailgate maybe even enough for plugs and cops

no. Either the dealer fixes the cel or walk. The light could be on for any number of reasons both major and minor

221k?

Pass. Known issues don't apply to high mileage engines. They're basically ticking time bombs.

You need to know what's causing the CEL and have it fixed. The CEL is telling you that something is wrong with the truck.
