Keyless Entry stopped working?
2002 F-150 XLT. Came with factory keyless entry. The remote type, not the keypad on the door.
A few months ago I noticed the remote would not unlock or lock the doors when I pressed the remote buttons. Usually after a few tries it would work though. Fast forward to Sunday and now the remote doesn't seem to work at all.
I changed the battery in the remote. No difference. Then I then reprogrammed the remote and it worked fine locking and unlocking the door. So I thought I was in the clear. Then this [Tuesday] morning I try hitting the button on the remote and sure enough it's not doing anything.
I'm really stumped what to do here. Could the receiver in the truck be bad? The truck isn't driven a whole lot. But the battery in the truck has enough juice to start the truck. So I don't think that's the problem. Any guesses?

I've seen the remotes lose memory before. My Expedition had to be reprogrammed when I bought it. You can reprogram it by doing the following:
With all doors closed, insert the key into the ignition. Cycle the key from off to run (as far as you can go without engaging the starter) 8 times in 10 seconds, while stopping in the run position on the 8th cycle. Your door locks should now cycle on their own indicating it is now in program mode. Push the unlock key on the keyfob. It should now be programmed, and verified by being able to lock and unlock with the keyfob. Just turn the key to off to exit programming.

I have 3 remotes, all of witch only work about 3 feet from the truck.
New batterys in all. ticks me off.
I'd try a new fob. There are many on here to choose from. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...y+fob&_sacat=0 just make ure you read and buy a complete one not just a shell. Putting all your old electronic parts into a new shell wont fix it.
Ive had a fob start acting up similar to this and it eventually just died in a few weeks.
