Default Keyless entry range?

My keyless entry on my 1997 XLT has about 100-150 foot range. I replaced the batteries already. This normal range?

Probably better than average. Mine is about 100 feet tops.

sometimes if you hold the clicker up to the bottom of your chin, aiming it up, and hit the button it extends the range

On previous fobs I was able to solder wire onto the antenna on the circuit board to extend the range. I looked at my f150's but was not able to determine the antenna. Range was over double.

This is true. If I'm too far away, I'll hold mine to my temple and it will work 99% of the time. I guess it turns your body into an antenna.

I did see some people do that also, and I was hoping someone had figured it out how to do in on our remotes. Give me something to do, at the least...
