I actually found that one, but it says for vinyl and leather. Is it for plastic too or am I just miss reading it?

There are two types. One for the more flexible stuff and the other for harder surfaces. I think they have fabric "paint" as well.

I actually found some for the plastic. It's dark graphite by sem, for hard plastics in the interior. I'll post a link after I see how good it works.

Is it Ford spec dark graphite, or just SEM dark graphite? May not be exactly the same. The stuff I buy is specific to ford (but it's for my Mustang, not sure if it's the same shade as the truck or not, might find out this weekend). Bought mine at Late Model Restoration, they have most of the interior colors for the mustang (and I believe for the Lightnings, I would assume they are the same as our trucks).

SEM uses direct factory colors made to completely match. That being the reason why it's a bit expensive and not able to be bought anywhere unless it's online or at a professional paint store.

That should color-match better than the Krylon Fusion. I used that for my Programmer mounting kit, and it has more of a blue-grey tint to it. Next time I have to take the dash apart, I'll try a can of that SEM.

BTW, no success with getting the trim bezel off Craigslist? Plenty of part-outs in the Atlanta area. An Expedition one would fit, but very few Expys for partout have grey interiors.

That being said, they DO make the dark graphite for other vehicles that use the same name for their OEM color, just wanted to make sure it was for the Ford vehicles. Also some of their paints are year-range specific, ran into that problem with my Mustang (98 and lower 'black' is different than 99+ 'black' as an example, a 98 black dash won't match a 99+ black interior car perfectly, it's actually a different color, dark charcoal). It does look like their medium graphite color was the same between 96-04 though, so it should be a color match as long as it's FORD medium graphite.

Yeah, SEM orders it by color AND make. They have a list of colors with car makes, you just have to get the code they use with each one.

That's actually where I ordered mine from. It's for the 99 lightning, in dark graphite. We will see how well it matches, but I sprayed a little sample as soon as I got it and from what I can tell, it matches perfectly. They were the only place I could find on the ole' internet that specifically said what each paint was for.

I'm not sure if I ever said or not, but I did find one, it's just tan. I looked on craigslist to see if I could find one and at least at the time, there were none that fit my criteria. I needed the 97-98 (doesn't have the little bar going through it) one with both the 4x4 selector and passenger air bag selector spots. Which apparently is hard to find. They'll probably popup all over the place now that I've bought one though. haha

I'm going to try and paint it today, so I'll post some pics up here later.
