Default Interior lights won't turn on when Driver door open

Hey guys,

Another problem.

Ever since I bought my truck, the interior lights won't come on for the driver side door whenever it opens, but it does for every other door. Fuse possibly? Also, my A/C and heat and fan gauges don't light up at night like they should.

Ideas on both?

I had a similar problem with my interior light, only mine wouldn't go off. I had to slam the door alot to get the light off. It only happened on the driver's side, the passenger's side worked fine. I was going to change the door switch but the guys at the auto parts store told me to squirt the heck out of it with WD-40. I did and it worked. No problems since.

The switch is back by the door latch. It is hard to get to even if you take the door panel off but really squirt the heck out of it and the WD-40 will get in there.

I had problems opening my tailgate and the WD-40 worked on that too. I think the problem is that the plastic gets gummed up and sticks. Or the plastic they use isn't very slippery or something. Both the door switch and the tailgate latch have a lot of plastic in them. I was really surprised at how much plastic there was when I opened them up and looked in there.

Hope that helps.
