Default Interesting Fuel Problem

I saw this in General 150 Discussion. The guy has an 01 with a 4.6. The truck won't start but if he pulls the fuel relay and jumps the 30 and 87 relay terminals while the relay is out the truck will run for 5 to 8 seconds then quit. That's long enough to indicate the injectors aren't the problem. He did try another relay with no success. If the problem is the pump would he get any fuel at all? Obviously he said nothing about DTC's and nothing about testing voltages. It's still IMO and interesting problem. He did just replace the intake gaskets and the coil packs. If it's a coil pack problem would it start at all or would it consistently give 5 to 8 seconds of run time before shutting down?

I can see it being a coil pack problem. Now if the majority of them were not working, then I cant see it idling for very long at all. Would die unless throttle was pressed

the fuel pump may be drawing to many amps and tripping the circuit breaker.
