Intake temp higher than normal
Recently, I have noticed my intake temp runs around 100-110 degrees, regardless of weather being 45* or 80*.
I have no idea why it would be like this, I changed air filter about 3 months ago.
I have checked around my whole intake from fender to throttle body, and nothing is loose or disconnected.
Any ideas of why this might be?
I always though it should be pretty close to outside temp.

Partially plugged filter is all I can think of. I'm using a modified stock air box and my IAT's are allows with in 5 degrees of ambient are temp as long as you havent been sitting in traffic. Which is when everything get heat soaked.
That definitely seems excessively high. But your engine wont sweat it. It will take the heat no problem. With my blower i have seen like 150 haha.
Did you forget to connect the boot from the airbox to the fender? Maybe your drawing in hot engine air?

No its not that's ambient temp sensor. The IAT is in the air box, maybe it fell out the box since you just changed the filter.
Its located on the back side of the intake elbow flex pipe. NOT where the guy is pointing on the back side of the flex pipe.

So your running a CAI and dry element correct ? You can clean that sensor with denatured alcohol.
So this just began occurring this spring in the hotter weather ? Did you have it hooked up last summer ?
EDIT: Wait a minute, The problem I experienced with that sensor COULD be yours, just didn't think of it. Anyway, the harness wires tend to fray one little copper wire strand at a time at the bend inside the insulation just after the connector. But it's very hard to tell, - look for like a buckle in the insulation or flex the harness wire one at a time. If it flexes easily, that's a hint. Also check continuity of each wire while flexing the wire.
If your missing strands, that could easily through it off....towards the hotter side and from your explanation, this makes sense.
BTW- and just so you know, I wasn't monitoring IAT temps when mine went, so I can't confirm a temp change. Mine became evident when the last strand broke, then I got a IAT DTC right away. Plus it began idling goofy at the same time after it completely severed.

I do not have a CAI, I have the stock intake housing.
Hmmm, old wires defiantly sound like - potential problem causer. I will be checking out the engine here soon, and will see what I can find!
