Here's a pic from RA on Dorman Body mounts. These are rubber. I think the synthetic material would be better.

I didn't find the pics again, and asked him for a better set, offlist, since the pics were not ideal, they not being the exact subject matter of the pics and now cannot backtrack. I'm reading almost everything here on 10th gen, I get lost, going back 'n forth so much, LOL !

I am of the opinion that unless you're planning on beating the snot out of your truck, use rubber. I've used poly bushings on my Mustang before, and I couldn't take the harshness and squeak.

I use a lot of stuff made by Anchor, and I've been happy thus far.

Anyway, the pics are not TOO relavent. The question stands...

How goes the removal and replacement of such mounts? Loosen all? Or loosen only half, so as to maintain relative position? Or one at a time? Pry the bed or body away from the frame a bit? Hammer old parts out w a block of wood, and replace the same way?

Is it so easy, that I shouldn't bother to ask? Just asking for a heads-up, IF any apply. I anticipate the task, and want to be mentally & otherwise, prepped.

Ditto, engine mounts, since I am a cpl-3 weeks overdue in selecting and ordering an engine, and I ASSume mine, at 20 yrs old, could stand a refresh. (I see premium red ones at $$$120. $eems undue for ME.)

NOTE TO MODERATORS ???
I do mannny edits for typos or clarity. The original is a finer font than what we read. Once submitted, errors are larger and easier to spot. If original font was larger, it may be a useful idea.

I agree, White, & thx for the brand recommendation. While I am in the camp, that, a truck IS a truck, at 70 I do things that many should quit at 60, but I have to throw a bone to the gals.

The only racing I'll do now is away from disasters rolling towards me. I just want to totally freshen this '01 so there's not much future stuff to go bad. Noone else will think it worthwhile, but if they see it last and last, they will relook at the "just fix-it" ethic suma use grew up on... I can leave a lasting lesson, behind.

[QUOTE=GRF150;7185351]Bill, you would need to use a cinder block and a jack of some kind and you would ONLY lift one body mount at a time. ... [QUOTE]

Thanks! However, I never use a cinderblock. Some dufas may walk past and think they are "safe, in general." Just bad form, even if ok in THIS senario, and for good reason, safe to use, HERE. Some guys do not think.
