Installing Double Din CD Player
Wayne
I went by a local shop to buy the wire harness and kit. The guy said he would install it if I wanted for $40. Told him it requires some trimming and he said yeah sometimes but he would take care of it. So I went ahead and let him do the install. I'm not happy with it at all. It sticks out way past the dash. There are gaps on both sides of the radio. The a/c controls are a little off. I do not think he used the kit and he charged me for it. Also don't think he did any trimming and thats why it sticks out so much. What do you guys think? I'm calling him back today to complain.

I installed a single DIN radio and a slightly wider than DIN scanner taking up the equivalent to double DIN space. I used a faceplate that I had to trim for the scanner, but it fit the radio.

I had to remove all this. The OEM radio is notched at the top. If your double DIN isn't really short or notched, you will have to cut a bunch of stuff out too. That's probably why your radio sticks out.
