So im wondering if anyone has installed an amp in an a 1999 extcab and my question is, where did you ground it? thanks

 

I have a regular cab but I grounded my amp on the metal below the plastic sill trim piece.. Just remember to make sure the area you ground on is clean, paint/grease/contaminant-free, and won't get kicked or impacted easily..

 

alright thanks, does anyone else know of any other places for easy grounding? also whats the best way to run the power cord from the cab to the battery? thanks

 

i grounded mine to the cab under the carpet. and i ran the power wire through a hole in the firewall right above the gas pedal. there is a piece of rubber in the hole and i just poked a hole in it and ran the wire through

 

I grounded mine about 4-6 inches from my amp under the carpet too.

 

so you can just pull the carpet up (like under the back seats) and just run a bolt or screw in there and thats it? thanks for the info by the way

 

In my 99 ext cab i have my amp under the middle back seat and just ground it to one of the bolts that bolts the seat to the chassis, just sand the area a little to get the best connection,,, also keep your ground as short as possible for best performance
