Inner Front Axle Shaft
Hello all,
I was replacing the CV axle on my 2001 F150 4x4 and while doing so, the inner axle shaft slid out. I pushed it back in until it is now flush with the axle tube. However, it never popped back into place like inner axle splines do on FWD cars. It's just free to slide in and out of the tube. Is this normal or is there a clip the shaft is supposed to engage with inside of the differential? I don't want to loose an axle shaft while driving down the road! Thanks!
