Default Injector Cleaner

My owners manual says do not use fuel additives. Does this mean I shouldnt add fuel injector cleaner or are they talking about octane booster? 2002 XLT 5.4L

consistently dumping octane booster is a waste of cash, ammo is more fun to buy.

I agree. I have only put octane boost in one time to see if I noticed anything.

I've used injector cleaner before on my 4.6 and it cleared up the idle pretty well. I think that Ford denounces fuel additives just to cover their butts.

octane boosters are made primarily of tulene, xylene, and acetone. If you wanna put that **** in your 35k truck, have at it. if you think that the companies that make it are making a good product because they have to, go buy a shovel so you can dig your head out of the sand. The chemicals used are used because they dilute fairly well in gasoline and are combustible. Think of it this way, its not the $200 in mossy oak "stuff" that landed the 10 point buck in the bed, its your marksmanship.....so, if you want to waste your money, ok...
