Inexpensive Mods?
Alright, I'm looking to do some things to to my 99. I don't have a whole lot of money. What are some suggestions for performance, exhaust, and maybe overall appearance. This is what I'm working with.

Polishing up those headlights is a fairly free mod i would do first, heres a how-to at the other forum i post at http://3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114484
well a cheap way to change appearance would be a small lift of about 1.5"
get some rubber coil spacers for about $80, that would level out ur truck
and u can add some blocks in the rear if u like the tilt look
depending on what year it is, u may need to get some new shocks...
but that is something i recommend everyone do after 75k miles

All depends on your budget man, any type of beginning go fast mods ( intake, exhaust and tuner ) will be def over $100 apiece and closer to $200 to $250. That being said, there's a large variety of stuff you can do to alter the appearance of the truck, some fairly inexpensive. Take a look at my truck album in my profile, it's not what everybody would do ( or even most ) but most of the stuff I did was cheap IE within budget. And I liked the end result....
Now I just gotta talk the wife into letting me get the 6 inch lift and bigger tires. lol

In reply to Sogwap55: Not true about the exhaust I bought 2 cherry bomb glasspacks at 30 a piece and made it a true duel. so if you can do it yourself it'll cost ya alot less. my way is a turn down (no visible tips). I love the way it sounds and its the cheapest way i know instead of going straight pipe.

glass packs on a v6 is about the biggest no no i could possibly think of! just say no to an exhaust system.
as for cheep upgrades, all i can think of is color match those chrome review caps that look out of place in chrome, loose the topper, level it with coil spacers, loose the running boards, maybe tint the tail lights, and take the side moldings off.

he's got the same v8 i do and it sounds great to me. I would also say paint the grille a gloss black (I used spray paint on mine and it looks good just be sure to sand it well and wipe it down good you dont want any fish eyes) and remove the bed cap i also agree with the running boards and the chrome westin boards would tie in those mirrors if you like em.
definitely loose the pinstripe as well... on a simple truck like yours, less is more. if you are into chrome, than chrome tube steps would tie in the mirrors, im not so much into the bling tho, this is coming from a guy who has smaller than stock rims on his truck lol, i like things simple and functional.
