I'm lost...
Hi, I have a 2000 f150 v6 with an automatic transmission that I bought recently and the seller told me it needed a transmission. I towed it home, and the transmission seems fine and shifts like new, but there is a terrible noise coming from the rear end that sounds like tires squealing, does anyone have any ideas as to what could be making this noise? Also, while I was driving it, trying to figure out what the noise was, I hit the brakesand the passenger rear spring fell out from under the truck. I need any and all the help I can get and any replies will be greatly appreciated.

My bad, it has the spring that sits on top of the leaf springs, before it had happened the rear of the truck speaked and made noise when going over bumps. This noise was different from the other noise I'm asking about
If it sounds like tire squealing and soon after a spring fell out... you probably have some suspension issues and you have metal on metal making the squeaking. Go over every inch of your rear end and suspension and make sure anything broken/out of place/worn down/anything that makes you nervous is fixed and/or replaced. Then if noise persists further diagnosing can happen. Also pics and videos are helpful when trying to diagnose something over the internet. Upload to YouTube and past link. The more specifics you can give the better and more precise diagnosing can be
Depending on your location, its not uncommon for the spring shackles to rust through and break, letting the spring slam up against bottom of the bed.
If a spring leaf literally fell out from under the bed, you have a serious problem- you have a leaf pack that is loose on the axle and an axle that is free to move around- you need to inspect this and have it fixed quickly, if this is the case.
