will a gas tank form a 01 fit a 98? the book says it won't but they look the same to me with hoses comming out of the same places and every thing.

Just have the parts guy at ford check the numbers for cross reference.

 

they should, but might not check out (numbers) sence some things were changed from 98 to 99

 

the book says they won't, the jcwhitney part #s are 1 # diffrent but i'm thinking it just because of the little changes for 98-99 i just don't know if any of those changes are to the gas tanks. i got the one from a 01 at a junk yard because all the 97-98 tanks are rusty an i didn't wanna spend $200 on a new one when i could get a tank with extra pump for a spare for $75. guess i'll just try and see

and you could most likely sell it back to the junkyard if it is wrong for most of your money back.

 

yeah he said he would give my money back. but it'll be a pain to replace it twice if it's wrong
