You can try to clean it with carb cleaner too, just hold the electronic side up so it doesn't run into it. 10mm bolts if I recall correctly. Check your air hoses for leaks too, squeeze them to see if they are rotten, especially the pcv elbow near the IAC. All the 2001-2003 f150's came with a weak pcv elbow that rots out before 100k (you have to get the replacement from a ford dealer).

It was a very easy fix and it is running and idling correctly now. Thank you very much for your help.

Great! Still, your PCV hose almost certainly needs replaced, if it hasn't been already. It comes off the passenger side of the throttle body. If you have a big thick elbow connector (kinda looks like a radiator hose), then it is the bad one. Squeeze it to check for rot. The new part is a smaller, harder rubber.

And, while you're at it - go get a can of Throttle Body cleaner, and another one specifically for Mass Airflow Sensor. Clean all while you have the air intake off the throttle body. Amazing how much @#$% comes off. Another cheapo fix that'll count!

Great Job on the IAC.

FYI, that PVC hose is common failure on the 5.4 - always develops pinhole at the elbow, causing vacuum leaks (and Lean codes).
